Peace Peace

My studio is surrounded by acres of waterliliy lakes and tall memaleuca trees which give me a quiet and peaceful place to work. The reflections create interesting thoughts and in this image I have tried to Colour and form again strongly influence my iages. I have had many exhibitions of images of the trees and lily ponds surrounding my studio. My paintings and drawings are in Government and corporate and private collections.

Completed as part of the Grindell's Hut artist in residence program. Grindell's Hut is situated in the north Flinder's Ranges in South Australia. One artist each year is offered an opportunity to spend a 31 days on their own in Grindell's Hut (134km along a 4wd track from Copley) with an exhibition in Port Augusta 6 months later. This image was painted from the verandah of the camping area.

This painting is from a national park in Ireland, I thought when painting it just how small we are in comparison to nature. There is a small farmhouse near the right bottom corner, I just thought at Mother Natures whim this lullaby could be turned in to a disaster.
