Robyn Markey is a South Australian artist who is passionate about gardens and working in them. This is evident in her work which frequently features themes from nature. Her most recent exhibition, ‘Botanique’, was a celebration of exotic flowers and their survival in the sometimes tough conditions we face here in Australia. Her large-scale oil paintings, with an emphasis on light and colour, invite the viewer to be a part of nature rather than apart from it. Robyn works from her home studio in the Barossa Valley, surrounded by a beautiful garden where the sources of inspiration are many and varied.
