Artist Profile

Fred Bullen

When Fred retired to the Mid North Coast of NSW a few years ago he decided to take up the challenge of learning to paint. He joined the local Art Society where he was taught by patient, experienced and successful local artists. He started with traditional landscapes in acrylic on canvas but soon moved on to large format boards for abstract works. Many of these had very heavily textured surfaces using fabric, gesso, wood and plastic. His current works cover a wide range of subjects using unusual techniques and materials. Many have been described as being in '2 and a half' dimensions. For sculptures he uses lightweight concrete (Hebel stone), timber, clay and metal. He has won many awards for his work which are on display in galleries in the Great Lakes area. His ongoing dedication to discovering subjects to represent with new materials and techniques makes his work fresh and attractive to a wide audience. All his works are sold with a '3 month money back guarantee'; details will be provided on request.
